Oil storage facility,
Whiddy Island, Bantry Bay

Aerial photo of the Conoco Phillips oil storage facility at Whiddy Island in Bantry Bay.
Whiddy Island was the location of Ireland's worst maritime disaster when in 1979 the Betelgeuse oil tanker exploded while docked at the deep water jetty as it was transferring oil to the terminal on shore.
