This old cemetery is a short distance off the town's by-pass road. Traveling west along the bypass, take the first turn left after the rising bend. The cemetery is on the left after 400 meters.
A notable burial here is of Cornelius O'Sullivan ( 1841 - 1907 ) who was an accomplished chemist, being the first to apply scientific principles and methods in the brewing industry. He studied first at Queens College Cork ( now UCC ) and then went to Berlin where he continued his studies under A.W. Hoffmann.
He later joined Bass and become head brewer in 1894. He was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Society.
