Aerial photo shows an eerie view of the Astrid - the Dutch sail training
vessel that ran aground, then sank near Kinsale on 24th July due to an
engine malfunction.
All 30 crew aboard the Tall Ship were rescued by the RNLI and
Coastguard.
This view shows her current condition, two weeks following the sinking.
Using Bing maps online and knowing her position, she appears to be partly resting on a sandy bottom, wedged between a line of rocks on either side with her stern now just at the water line, propped up on another rocky outcrop.
At this point it's unlikely that she'll ever sail again.
