Fermoy 2006 - 2014
Fermoy; located about 15 miles north of Cork City just west of the M8 motorway and on the banks of the Blackwater river. Given the theme of this website, aviation connections with the town include a disused military airfield just north of what is now Blackwater Motors and also an old railway bridge over the river, east of the town was used in a famous flying scene in the 1960's during the filming of the Blue Max when planes flew beneath the bridge spans.
