Aerial photo of Kells Priory, on the bank on the King's River,
Co Kilkenny. This is one of the most impressive examples of
medieval architecture in Ireland and appears more like a fortress
rather than a monastic site.
It is reputed to have been founded in 1193 by Geoffrey FitzRobert,
brother-in-law to Strongbow.
